And before someone hits all the scary points on licorice root, I’ll address it here: We don’t use that type of licorice root.
Gutgard® licorice flavonoids are "...entirely different from deglycyrrhized licorice (DGL) with respect to chemistry and composition, manufacturing process, mechanisms of action and physicochemical properties."
Too much regular licorice with glycyrrhizin can produce serious side effects such as elevated blood pressure. Gutgard® doesn't behave the same way.
