3 common misunderstandings with supplements - gut health, dose, quality

After working with thousands of people, here are the 3 most common misunderstandings we see with supplements:

⏲️ TIME: Most research studies done on supplements say they need 8 to 12 weeks to work, NOT 30 DAYS. Most people will quit taking a supplement in the first 30 days if they don't notice it working. I had to train myself to give products the time needed to work per the research studies and trust the process. It just takes time.

🔍️STANDARDIZATION: We are all trained to look for specific ingredient names on labels. While that is a good place to start, ingredients vary dramatically in standardization (quality). For example, I am testing berberine right now for insulin resistance. The version of berberine I am testing at 350 mg is equivalent to more than 1,500 mg of normal standardizations and requires no additional ingredient help for absorption. With berberine alone, I have found almost 9 different standardizations with completely different performance measurements for each.

🧾 Years ago I started researching the use of immunoglobulins for SIBO, IBS, IBD, autoimmune issues, etc. The dosing for immunoglobulins to help with SIBO, IBS, IBD, and autoimmune issues is 8 to 12 grams per day for 60 to 90 days. For pricing purposes, companies sell it at the maintenance dosing of 2 grams per day, but then never suggest the higher dosing necessary to help with the problems people want help with. I find this to be the case over and over again with many ingredients.

When you read the research on ingredients, look for the length of time the studies were done over, the standardization requirements, and the dosing requirements. This will help you better see results from supplements.
