Introduction
Collavant® n2 is a native (undenatured) type II collagen derived from chicken sternum that has been studied for its role in supporting joint comfort, mobility, and cartilage health. Unlike hydrolyzed collagen, which primarily provides structural amino acids used in connective tissue formation, native type II collagen functions through a mechanism known as oral tolerance and is effective at very low doses, typically 40 mg per day. Through this process, small amounts of dietary collagen interact with immune cells in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue, helping support balanced immune responses associated with normal joint tissue and cartilage metabolism.
Human clinical research — including randomized controlled trials in healthy, physically active individuals and populations experiencing joint discomfort — has evaluated the effects of daily supplementation with native type II collagen. These studies have reported improvements in joint comfort, physical function, walking capacity, and quality-of-life measures related to joint health. Preclinical research exploring the oral tolerance mechanism has also examined how orally administered type II collagen interacts with immune signaling pathways associated with joint tissues. These findings help explain why native type II collagen has been evaluated in human studies at low daily doses and suggest a role in supporting healthy cartilage metabolism and joint resilience during periods of physical stress.*

Collavant® n2 Ingredient Summary & Real-World Relevance
Collectively, clinical and preclinical research suggests that Collavant® n2, a native (undenatured) type II collagen, may help support joint comfort, mobility, and cartilage health in individuals experiencing physical stress on the joints. Human clinical studies evaluating daily supplementation with 40 mg of native type II collagen have reported improvements in measures of joint comfort, functional movement, and mobility in both physically active individuals and populations experiencing joint discomfort. Unlike hydrolyzed collagen peptides that primarily serve as structural building blocks, native type II collagen functions through a mechanism known as oral tolerance, which helps support balanced immune responses associated with normal joint tissue and cartilage metabolism. Together, these findings suggest that Collavant® n2 may help support joint function, resilience, and comfortable movement as part of an active and healthy lifestyle.*
