AN-PEP enzymes help properly breakdown gluten in the stomach-gut health, gluten free, gluten intolerance, celiac

Gluten is a protein. When this protein is not properly broken down completely in the stomach it can cause reactions in the intestines. Therefore, it would stand to reason the solution would be to break down this protein rapidly in the stomach before it gets to the intestines and in a way that doesn’t cause the gut to flare up.
.
With common gluten enzymes, gluten-sensitive T-cells still react to digested gluten. Flare-ups happen. The AN-PEP enzyme is able to digest the immunogenic parts of gluten so that flare-ups don’t
happen.
.
For people with gluten autoimmune responses, they experience problems when the gluten gest to the small intestine causing inflammation when the body fights against the gluten as if it were a virus. This is an overreaction of the immune system.
.
For those with gluten intolerances there are a couple reasons gluten may cause issues. The first may not actually be gluten but may be the fiber (fructan). “A recent study published in the journal of Gastroenterology shows that fructan caused more stomach upset than gluten did in a group of people who thought they were gluten-sensitive.” (https://www.vox.com/2017/11/21/16643816/gluten-
bloated-carb-wheat-fructan-problem-fodmaps)
.
It is also suggested that gluten may affect the lining of
the gut (leaky gut). “This lining usually keeps bacteria from leaking out of your intestines. But in people with a gluten intolerance, the lining may not work as it should, allowing bacteria into their blood or liver and causing inflammation (leaky gut).” (https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21622-gluten-
intolerance)
.
For all parties that struggle with gluten, rapidly breaking down gluten in the stomach is helpful. The producer/creators of this enzyme note that this enzyme is “…not suitable to replace a gluten-free diet.”
And this enzyme “…is not suitable to treat or prevent celiac disease.”
.
What I find is that when people take a high enough dose of this particular enzyme before eating gluten, they handle gluten really well. For people that have autoimmune issues and that are on a strict gluten-free diet that want to stay on this diet, this enzyme may be a good way to prevent cross-contamination or issues from hidden gluten.
.
Lastly, addressing leaky gut is always going to be helpful for those that struggle with gluten problems.
